the essene market

Post by Mademoiselle on March 13th 2008, 6:39 am

so, since i'll be in philadelphia for a bit, and i found that, yes, even here in philly, the city that hates you back, there is a little hippie market, i figured that i might just see about giving a little seminar/workshop/chat on herbalism and medicine-making. before pitching the idea i'm rattling off some ideas for such a thing in this head of mine.
here in philly, with a more limited exposure to all things hippie, people use natural remedies, but more often than not they buy them at the whole foods. i want to maybe remind people to get down a little more to a grass-roots, kitchen-cupboard kind of medicine. work with the things around you. garlic and ginger should not be overlooked. maybe i'll make a fire-cider. we could also do an infused body oil, a few tinctures (folk ofcourse) and maybe a few cordials or simple infused vodka/brandy's. at first glance i figured i havent enough knowledge to offer, and then i realized how selfish that was. i don't have to be perfect.

this sounds like a lovely thing to offer the community. and like you said it does not have to be a full on technical class on actions of herbs, fill theirs brains with too much- scare them off... the grass-roots, kitchen-cupboard kind of medicine starting with fire cider would be fun .. and.. doesn't every one want know the secret to a good fire cider? well.. yer the one to teach them... maybe make some acetums and melitas too

I have reached the inner vision, and
through thy spirit in me, I have heard thy wondrous secret.

Through thy mystic insight thou has
caused a spring of knowledge to well up within me...

a fountain of power, pouring forth like
living waters...

a flood of love and all embracing wisdom,
like the splendor of

Eternal Light.
