This is a classic cult film that Charlton Heston starred in, still creepy after all these years. affraid

Creepy Movies for October Empty Re: Creepy Movies for October

Never seen it but I'll netflix it.

My choice is the original The Manchurian Candidate
Made in 1962, with Frank Sinatra and Angela Lansbury, it has plot twists that blow your mind. It's a disturbing and chilling movie about politics, brain washing of Korean War veterans and how far people will go to get what they want. Very progressive for 1962 but still holds its creepiness today. It's worth just watching Angela Lansbury's performance. She won the Academy award for it.affraid

Rumor has it Sinatra owned the rights to this movie and would not allow it to be released on video, DVD or played on TV. It came out in DVD after he died. There was speculation in Hollywood and D.C that there were too many close references in the movie pertaining to the Kennedy admin and other political big wigs. We'll most likely never know.
