Golden Shampoo

Here is a recipe from the book Earthly Bodies & Heavenly Hair for a shampoo that I made and like:

Golden Shampoo (for light hair)

Use the following freshly dried herbs: 1 tsp. chamomile, 1 tsp. calendula, 1 tsp. marshmallow root (cut)
1 cup water
1/4 tsp. olive oil (use sesame oil for oily hair and jojoba oil for dry hair)
3 oz. castile soap
10 drops lemongrass essential oil
15 drops grapefruit essential oil
10 drops tea tree essential oil
(I also added rosemary essential oil)

Make herbal infusions with herbs and water, let steep for 4 hours and strain. Pour strained infusion, liquid castile soap, oilive oil or other oil of choice and essential oils into a jar or squeeze bottle, cap and shake. It is ready to use. Always shake before use. Makes about 9 oz.

I know soap can leave your hair dry, but the oil counteracts that. I haven't had a problem with too dry hair using this shampoo. There are also recipes in the same book for dark hair, all hair colors, itchy, dry, and oily hair.
