Butterbur
I had been supplying a friend back home with feverfew tincture for his migraines. It was helping alot! That is, until he developed a rash. So now he's not taking it and is having the worst headaches ever. So I'm researching butterbur. Anybody have any info?

Re: Butterbur
I have never used it, nor know too much about it- amazing looking plant.
the Clematis is blooming in many places now, mine just has buds- not opened, how about tinc. some of that? That would be taken before the pain part of the migrain hit... that was one of the plants we folked at Los Padres last year.. what a great trip, feverfew hasn't worked for me either.

Re: Butterbur
Thanks for the suggestion. It just might work for him since it is in a different family than feverfew.

Re: Butterbur
Thanks. Does wood betony make you sleepy or lethargic? And do you take it as a preventative or symptomatically?

Re: Butterbur
From what I understand. It's preventative. I take 1 dropper/day
Not sure how it works.
no sleepiness or lethargy.

Re: Butterbur
found this in my seed/plant catalog. it's from Horizon Herbs
Petasites (Western Coltsfoot, Butterbur) Petasites palmatus

luxurious, umbrella-shaped leaves. Medicinally, small amounts of the
leaf or root are used to treat spasmodic cough or deep-seated pain.
Contains PAs. Plant prefers partial shade and moist garden soils or
streamside habitat. Shrot-lived seed. Press into surface of potting
soil in fall or spring and keep moist. Germination is fast, and plants
are vigorous and spreading. Grows to 2 feet tall. 100 seeds per
