keeping you posted...

Post by Mademoiselle on February 14th 2008, 7:38 pm

hmm, wouldn't it be nice if we all kept eachother posted?

anyway i wanted to let you know of my plans.
I am heading to west africa on march 3. I had originally planned to get started with this journey in Senegal, but now it seems itll be Ghana, i have come across a week-long seminar in traditional african healing and medicinal plants just outside of Accra (the capital) i'm quite excited as it seems like the perfect way to get started, meet people, and figure out what's going on in the region with herbal medicine. i hope to be able to learn about many aspects of plant-use... spiritual, ritual, medicinal and economic. all "goals" as per the level of ambition i'm feeling at any particular point in the adventure.

afterward, i hope to make way to a medicinal plant farm, run by an NGO Africa-First, to see what they're up to. I'll also be quite close to Voodoun regions, a beautiful and complex religion, rooted in earth and ancestral worship...
but really only the gods know where i'll be from that point.

I'm so excited to have some prospects in place to begin with, and i'd be happy to keep you all posted on what i find... if you're interested ofcourse.

i was hoping to meet up with jamie in dakar, senegal, in mid march, but i guess now we wont be in the same place.

hope we all have safe travels. be it, to africa, or the next town. and may we move with intention....

Wow. Sounds like an amazing trip and I'd love to be in the loop when you have time to share your knowledge and experiences. Take good notes.
Be careful

God Bless
Tina
