Re: Random Thread, What's on Your Mind
Weird Day...lazy...rainy...geting some things. My mind feels available instead of preoccupied by school. I'm makiing lists of all the things I want to do that I've had to put off.
And still not sure whatI feel about all of this.
...gonna be a long weekend
BTW my baynuts are getting lighter so I guess their not rotten

Wasn't 'Happy little trees' the German guy who would say 'Vite und Alizarin Crimson'
I guess I Love Lucy and Carol Burnett reruns are a reason to keep it
Rhett: Scarlet, that dress...It's...It's gorgeous.
Scarlett: I saw it in a window and I just had to have it

Re: Random Thread, What's on Your Mind
Is this happening to anyone...?
I find that there are 2 parts to my mind post CSHS. 1 that is overly confident when people ask me questions about what to do for such and such. My reply wants to be "Well of course I know what's going on" (bad ego, naughty!) So I start saying what I think. ..I ask a few questions and realize I have no business helping them. Who was I to think that I can I fix it in 10 minutes. I have this image in my head..The conversations asking/answering thing happening and then they say something like "Oh and I'm also on a beta blocker for hypertension" My mind immediately shuts the huge 8" thick titanium vault door to my herbal library and slides the bolts. And all I want to say is "Sorry...NEXT!"
Then there's the other part of my mind that has gone stupid before they even finish asking me the herbal questions. You think you know a lot and then 1 question just makes you go .
Practice makes for a better herbalist. That's my mantra..right?

Re: Random Thread, What's on Your Mind
I have to share my herbal screw up. I'll try and make it short...
A few nights ago I reached to pick something up and felt my muscles sieze up in my back. Thought pedicularis and a heating pad would do the trick....3am I'm in terrible pain so I dig in my herbal 1st aid kit for my muscle relaxing tincture, arnica tincture and the muscle linament we made in class. Exhausted and not thinking clearly i put a dropper full of what i though was muscle relaxing tincture in water and satrted to chug. realizing it shouldn't taste like this, yet already swallowing 1/2 of it i spit the rest out. Of course it was the class linamt. On the bottle it says clearly, but maybe not for a 3am-er, it say 'external use only' and vaguely remember that there was something in it that I shouldn't take internally.
Imagine me, at 3 am, trying to find in 1 of 3 notebooks the formula from Gails class. Alas i did and aconite was the ingredient. Obviously I'm still alive and it wasn't at a leathal dose but was a good lesson on watching what I'm taking.
The thought of doing that with western medicine and possibly poisoning or OD-ing on God knows what is scary.

Re: Random Thread, What's on Your Mind
Well.. now we know that we can't die from taking Gail's muscle ache medicine.- thanks for testing that for us Inti
So what about a potluck here at my place Sat. Feb 16 or 23rd?
Something to think about. I'll dress the house in hearts for Valentine/Love Day-Week-Month.

Re: Random Thread, What's on Your Mind
I would prefer the 23rd as I'm planning to go to a seminar in SF on the 16th
