Whiskey Cupcakes
Haven't tried this yet but am just imagining all the things we could do to this Recipe for these amazing Whiskey Cupcakes:
Ingredients
Put oven rack in middle posistion and preheat oven to 325F.
Heat
coffee, whiskey, butter, and cup of cocoa powder in a 3-quart heavy
saucepan over moderate heat, whisking until butter is melted. Remove
from heat, then add sugar and whisk until dissolved, about 1 minute.
Transfer mixture to a large bowl and cool 5 minutes.
While
chocolate mixture cools, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in
a bowl. whisk together eggs and vanilla in a small bowl, Then whisk
into cooled chocolate mixture until combined well. Add flour mixture
and whisk until just combined(don’t worry the batter will be a bit thin
and bubbly). Bake Cupcakes for 30 to 40 minutes. Then place cupcakes on
a rack to cool then dust with powdered sugar. Use an ice cream scooper to make sure that all cup cake cups are even. This made about 12 Jumbo Cupcakes.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup brewed coffee
- 1 cup of American whiskey
- 2 Sticks of unsalted butter cut in to one inch pieces.
- 2 Cups of sugar
- 2 Cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 Large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

Re: Whiskey Cupcakes
lovely recipe... thanks. sounds like a perfect autumn treat with afternoon tea, hot totties maybe.
as soon as i'm done with the candida diet...
how about substituting whole wheat flour and date sugar?
...kidding.

YUM!! I'm doing wheat free so it will have to wait for me too.
Mademoiselle I did the candida diet years ago with great success. Soda bread became my starch stand by. there's some great whet free flour blends on the market now and I took atraditional Irish Soda bread recipe.

Re: Whiskey Cupcakes
serving tables (to eat my "i'm over that" words from months ago) at the new Hopmonk Tavern opening in sebastopol. it's actually going to be a pretty sweet spot...they put in a super stellar sound system in the music venue part and will have some amazing beers on tap....might have to be the new herb school watering hole...

Re: Whiskey Cupcakes
Count me in for the cool beers and the new place. It's closer for me.
