I kow about the root as medicine. And I've got mixed reviews from teachers and such about using the arial parts. I'm growing purpurea, since angustifolia is harder to grow, and I've got flowers coming up.
so my question to you all....

Do you use arial parts and from which species. If you do... do you take it from the 1st year and/or the 2nd year. I know the root is the 2nd year.

Along with the moring glories I have always loved to plant her night sister the moon flower, a lovely one to have in your garden, or even in a container on your deck. The flower opens at dusk, smells divine. The night pollinators will it, luna moths.. incredidible to see, will come visit. You can actually be sitting right next to the vine, at dusk, tea in hand and watch them wake up, around the same time the moring glories go to sleep.

ah, the return of spring has been like oil to me stiff and achy joints! i'm drawn like a magnet to the nearby hills, where something new always occurs to me. strange, that as a visitor to my hometown, i have come to know the wild places better than i ever did as a full-time resident.

one amazing tool that i've utilized in my ego's search to find the right names of things has been the website: www.calflora.org. It has distibutions of most of the species of plants that are ...

San Pedro Cactus: Echinopsis pachanoi

i have babies on my plant. if you do or are doing the propagation thing with them, here's this.. I use the same method with some of my other cacti also

Set and Forget

Excerpt:

1) First let the cut end dry It seals off the cut by drying out much like the way our skin makes a scab.

2) Then set it vertically on loose soil Roots will sprout downward from the cut end.

Set on loose soil & forget about it!

Conversations with Ally lately have led to talk of Rumi, a well-known sufi mystic and spiritual poet. I really didn't know much about Sufism as a spiritual path.

Another context for which to speak of living in a holy way.

Can never use too many.
