autumn eqinox

last night i got together with the witches for an early equinox ceremony.

we wove wreaths together with grapevine and sage, hyssop, amaranth, moneyplant, ivy, thyme...

we talked about what the plants represented to us... and why we were weaving it into the coming months of our lives. lots of money plant.

then we did our small, casual ritual. we called the corners, held hands, we spoke of something we want to leave behind, something we're grateful for, something to move foward with.
we closed the circle and spent hours sitting around the back porch drinking wine and laughing.

ive been getting together with these women since i came back to philly, just in time to catch the winter solstice. and i feel lucky to have been brought in. under their words you can feel that theyve known eachother since the dawn of time, that they're lives weave together, that they're daughters share boys and lovespells, and their losses greived by all of them. women that send prayers into the wind for eachother....

the rituals are so very informal and free and easy. no one tries too hard.

so, i hope you ladies are having other women to come together in prayer with. and if not, start a small circle, see what happens.
one never knows where the wind carries the seeds we sow.

sounding lovely. we are going to have a little gathering at school - luch time to honor the time of year, perhaps i'll bring some cordials along with the food offerings.

I think we need to do this more often. Maybe on the full moons.

I hear ya. I already feel it. kind of early this season. Maybe because school is ending again and I'm antisipating the let down like i had last year. I think keeping in contact and getting together regularly may help that.

Maybe if we know that each week or everyother week we meet up for a potluck. Same day and time. we should discuss
